A Detroit native known throughout the nineties for his work fronting detroit Rock band Broken Toys , relocated to Hollywood in 2000. Huck Johns co-wrote the song "I AM" on Kid Rock's self-titled 2003 album. Johns then collaborated throughout L.A.with members of Premiere groups like GNR, Alice Cooper and BuckCherry producing and writing material which led into 2006 where Johns recorded at Capitol Studios in Hollywood leading to the self titled release via Hideout / Capitol Records. Huck's single "Oh Yeah" became a moderate hit on mainstream rock radio and Johns continued touring as a solo act sharing stages with Kid Rock,Ted Nugent and Buckcherry
throughout the U.S.until 2008. Upon his return to L.A. he joined members of Buckcherry and created the hard rock band Black Robot. The band released its debut in 2010 and found widespread recognition for Johns' contribution of vocals and songwriting. Produced and co-written by grammy winning producer Dave Cobb (Rival Sons, Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton) Black Robot was featured in Classic Rock Magazine's best of 2010. The Song "Baddass" was picked #5 song of the year and listed by Classic Rock as #198 of the best Classic Rock songs. the BAND'S cover OF "Cocaine" has arguably said to be one of the best Rock covers in recent history. Johns has a list of producer credits and an extensive song catalog of various genres. Johns' music has been featured on various sports Networks, in several major films and on numerous major network television programs. Johns has a full production studio located in Santa Monica Ca. and is available for session and commercial work.
